Re: Dear Obama, Its Time You Quit
I don’t want to state the obvious but the misstatements from Obama may seem minor to Dems but they are only minor because they are coming from a Dem. I don’t put too much stock in the gaffes. They really seem to be birthed more out of desperation than out of a low I.Q. or lack of experience. Hillary’s lead is widening and he needs to make a move soon or plan on being the candidate for V.P. My original comment to Dave’s post wondered when the left would seize the gaffes and give Obama neat names like they did to “Chimpy McHitler?” And when will they call Obama dumb? And when will Andre feel that listening to Obama has made him more stupid?
The answer is obviously never.
Supporters will even point to Obama’s impressive law degree from Harvard to show that he is qualified. And in the next breath they will call a person with an MBA from Yale “stupid.”
And it all goes to show that when President Clinton takes office, the left has absolutely no intention of holding “their guys” to the same standard as the “fascists” on the right. Their demagoguery and hatred only extends to those that don’t share their leftist ideology.

This is a useless argument, though. Works coming from either side and is true both ways. There are no right-wing sites making fun of Bush for what he says. No side makes fun of their own guys because then there’s nobody left to defend them. The Republican candidates have said plenty of stupid things, but they aren’t being reported on the right, and when they were, Republicans defended them the same way.
That said, Bush set a really low bar to begin with. He frequently mangled grammar and stumbled occasionally with words and some facts, which made it seem as if he wasn’t familiar with them. There’s not really anybody like him running right now, at least not as a serious candidate. Obama is probably the closest, but it isn’t on the same level.
