Operation Christmas Child

Filed under: Uncategorized — Dave - the Infidel Sage @ 1:01 pm

My children’s school is participating in Operation Christmas Child which last year used shoe boxes of gifts to give hope to some eight million hurting children worldwide. This year their school hopes to raise 500 boxes for the largest Christian Christmas charity in the world. We are putting together one for each of my two children that are currently in school and have enlisted the children of our church to pull together to make a couple more. I admit I have a little ‘pull’ with the pastor’s wife to make things happen on occasion (ok, so she’s my mother). Operation Christmas Child is part of the wider charity organization Samaritan’s Purse operating under the direction of Billy Grahams son, Franklin Graham.

We spent a couple of hours last Sunday putting one of them together. It was actually quite fun and helps develop and reinforce the all important concepts of giving, generousity, sacrifice, empathy, charity and caring into my children. American society does not usually install these values into your children on a regular basis. In fact, it is often quite the opposite. The concept of caring for others while at the same time recognizing how fortunate we are to live in the USA and to be thankful for what we do have are lessons we should all take to heart as well.

It is amazing how many colorful pencils, notepads, pencil toppers, bouncy balls, pieces of candy, toothbrush and toothpaste, pencil sharpeners, small stuffed animals etc. you can stuff into a shoe box. After we were finished, my oldest daughter told me that this was a gift she would like to receive. So I know we did a good job and we hope that we bring a small bit of joy and happiness to a child or two that sincerely needs it.

Andrew Meyers breaks silence; demonstrates his own idiocy

Filed under: Idiots, Liberals, News media — E the Wise @ 12:38 pm

Andrew “don’t tase me bro” Meyer gave an interview this morning on the Today show giving his take on the childish antics that led to his arrest during a John Kerry Q & A.  The interview reveals the insipidly bland way that the modern day leftist approaches anything or anyone they disagree with.  As always, the typical response are to make up lies, blame others with fantastic conspiracy theories, and point out the inadequacies of society while ignoring their own blaring character flaws.  Lets review:

Make up lies

When asked if he planned his own arrest, Meyer tactfully wondered why anyone would want to incur the costs of arrest.  He stated, “I did bring my video camera along. I obviously knew I was going to ask the Senator some tough questions, and I wanted to have it on tape.  So he didn’t plan his arrest, but he planned to make a scene and show what a committed leftist he was.  He even had the camera to prove it.  Nice play of words there, bro!  In regards to the media he says, “Politicians are not used to being asked the hard questions. I think free speech has been willfully discarded to an extent by American journalists.”  Wow, how nice of Mr. Meyers to fire the “hard questions” at Senator Kerry.  The lie in that statement is that he wanted to ask the leftist questions.  To him, the difficulty of a question resides in the ideology of the person asking the question.  What a sham!

Blame others with fantastic conspiracy theories

Naturally, the lunatic leftist had to square his rationale for acting like an idiot with those things that are patently absurd.  The first thing he mentioned was the election of 2004: “Greg Palast, author of “Armed Madhouse,” the book I was holding up at the forum, proved that John Kerry won the 2004 election. The ultimate point I was trying to make was to bring up was the heinous way millions of American votes were chucked in the garbage on Election Day. Not only is this a total assault on democracy, but the same tactics used to throw away votes in 2004 will be used again in 2008.   Oh, that’s nice.  So you can act like a child when you read something by a fringe lunatic claiming votes were discarded in Ohio.  How nice.  But he continued to launch the “hard questions” at the Senator:  “The third question I asked Kerry, which Tim Russert of NBC’s Meet the Press also asked Kerry (and Bush), is was he a member of Skull and Bones in college.”  Wait, if Tim Russert already asked the question, then his claim that the “hard questions” are not being asked is just a front and a lie!

Point our the inadequacies of society

When asked about how the student body at the University of Florida is responding to him, he came back with this reply: “Most students are probably apathetic towards me, as they are towards everything else that doesn’t involve their FaceBook.”  That’s a cute reply when you consider the reasons this joker totes around his video camera.  Earlier, we learn that he films all sorts of things to post on his web site.  So he can have his neat little site with video footage of bands and people holding Harry Potter signs but when another student has a facebook account, he implies that they are shallow and selfish.  What a buffoon!

Genarlow Wilson Freed, But Will Others Follow?

Filed under: Conservatives, Culture — DFV the Scribe @ 11:37 pm

Genarlow Wilson, the Georgia man who was sentenced to ten years in prison for consensual teenage sex, has been freed at last. But some are questioning whether states’ various teen-sex laws are in need of a complete overhaul. Many states still allow prosecutors to go after two teenagers engaged in consensual sex, and at least one Georgia prosecutor believes that we should just educate teens more — so they’ll understand better when we slap the cuffs on them.

In Kansas last year, the AG tried to make it a law that any adult care provider who had any knowledge of teen sex would be required to report it. Federal courts have blocked the move.

Proponents of these laws like to imgine that they are preserving something that is almost lost; that they are protecting the past from the onrushing future. They are deluded, however, because teen-age sex has always been prevalent. It used to be afforded more legal protection than it is in some states today. Far from preserving and protecting, the proponents of anti-teen-sex laws are in fact seekng to usher in a very new world — and one that has never existed before. We can label this many ways, but to call it “conservative” is not one of them.

Europe is in far deeper trouble than many realize

Filed under: Culture, Europe, Islam, Political Correctness, Religion, The Global War on Islamofascism — Dave - the Infidel Sage @ 11:46 pm

Murder attempt on Denmark Leader and supporters

As Islamofascism awareness week draws to a close, incidents like this help to shine the light on the ideology that English speaking peoples, the West and all civilized peoples throughout the world face. Now normally I’m not a fan of beating girls with iron bars, but such personal prohibitions and natural inclinations of self restraint are not shared by a group who descended with some fury on a group preparing to join a rally opposing Islam’s primitive and totalitarian belief system.

Europe has to wake up or it’s cultural and political suicide will someday only be a sad footnote in the history books of my future grandchildren. It is heartbreaking to watch a once great cradle of civilization allow itself to be politically, racially, nationally, culturally, ideologically and theologically castrated by its own policies and beliefs. Far more of us have in the US (as compared to Europe) have sounded the alarm and pointed out the threat of what massive immigration (both legal and illegal) can do to a nation, a culture and a people. If one can believe it, the situation in Europe is far graver with its influx of massive immigrants  primarily being of Muslim origin and bringing its plethora of serious problems and dysfunctions to the birthplace of Western Civilization.

Will Americans put up with this kind of thing? I tend to think not, but we’ll see. One of the many commenter’s on this story quoted Shakespeare’s Henry V on the eve of the Battle of Agincourt ‘he that hath no stomach for this fight
let him depart’
.

The Gates of Vienna website is reporting that this was not an attack by Islamists themselves, but that it was some anarchist sympathizers who staged the ambush. European politics is always interesting.  You’ve got to love the brownshirts of the radical Left and a society that calls you ‘fascist’ for standing up to fascism.

For a fun overview of some of the websites that cover this type of thing, you can read my column The Rise of the anti-Jihadists. The ‘Counter Jihad’ is playing catchup.

And finally, don’t miss Leftist Brown Shirts Shut Down Horowitz Speech at Emory.

What transpired at Emory on Wednesday night demonstrates the reality of this assertion, and the outrageous actions that result when Islamic Fascism and University Leftism converge on a college campus. The campus Left pretends to believe in free speech, but can’t even bring itself to let mass murder and terrorism be criticized.  In case these campus censors haven’t noticed, our very civilization is being threatened, but they line up with the same enemy who would obliterate every freedom these Leftwing extremists choose to abuse.

Will Redheads become extinct?

DEPRESSING news in the September edition of National Geographic: redheads are becoming rarer and could become extinct - some experts say the last redhead could be born by 2060.

Others say the redhead gene can disappear for a generation or two in a family and reappear. But if it does disappear, it will, perhaps, have been inevitable.

Red has long been the rarest hair colour in humans, as it is the result of a mutation that occurred only in a small population of Celts in Europe many thousands of years ago.

Given the manner in which Celts were pushed west, it makes sense that people with the red hair are mostly found in Ireland, Scotland and Wales (and, to a lesser extent, England).

The birthrate in these countries is historically low, especially compared with Asia and Africa, where infants generally don’t have red hair.

Thus, the proportion of the world’s population with natural red hair is down to 2per cent. Never mind that redheads have friends in high places. Jesus loved redheads, according to tradition. By many depictions, Mary Magdalene was one. But they are on the way out.

On every level, that’s surely a tragedy. Before we let this rare and precious species go, has anyone considered what it might be like to live in a world without redheaded women?

As a strong believe in Human diversity I tend to agree that Nature’s variances are interesting and desirable and should not be disappearing as quickly as the Southern border, national sovereignty or personal liberties.  Perhaps a vigorous Celtic reemergence is in order here and a new standard set that every red haired woman should have at least four children.  That would at least be a start.

How hard did Randi Rhodes hit her head?

Filed under: Entertainment, Humor, Idiots, Liberals — Dave - the Infidel Sage @ 10:41 pm

After Randi Rhodes’ recent a}assault by a neo-conservative hit squad b} drunken head dive after guzzling bloody Mary’s by the gallon (feel free to pick one) I believe there is reason to be concerned about her medical condition. She may have hit her head a bit harder than originally was reported and perhaps should seek some professional medical attention and observation as soon as possible. Delusions and paranoia are known side effects of head trauma and such symptoms should not be taken lightly. They are also known side effects of Leftist ideology so the two can be easily confused. But just in case I would like my concern and unbiased (but admittedly medically scant) personal opinion to be  on record.

You can read more about all of this and other finger pointing at everyone else but the actual perpetrators of the CA wildfires at Oral Conflagrations.

I started just doing Google searches to try and figure out. You know, arson, arson, it was like crazy trying to figure out why is that being downplayed? Why is that, you know, just a small part of the story? And you know, every time I look for it what comes up, believe it or not, is that Blackwater wants to move to San Diego and build this giant complex in San Diego right where most of the evacuations are taking place and you know. You just know wherever there is fire, this administration will be out there doing what it does best and that is fanning the flames, you know. It just spooks me, I can’t explain to you how creepy this whole thing is that you know, you’ve got these fires. Some of them are thought to be the work of arsonists and in the same breath you’ve got a community that’s on fire that just recently protested Blackwater West. Just recently said no to Blackwater and apparently you don’t do that. I mean, I don’t even know what to think. You know, nobody is saying Blackwater set the fires, that is nobody that doesn’t want their house burned down. Nobody is saying that, but it is all so bizarre that this is America and you have to sort of sit there and wonder … arson, same place Blackwater West wants to be, people protesting. And then you find out that some of the guys that used to work for Blackwater are now in Schwarzenegger’s administration. It’s all so creepy.

Defending the Term “Islamofascism”

Filed under: Islam, The Global War on Islamofascism — Dave - the Infidel Sage @ 11:45 pm

Defending the Term “Islamofascism”

I think it is accurate and probably one of the better terms being used in reference to the War on Terror.  I often use the term ‘Islamic Jihadists’ but I may be persuaded to adopt the more commonly used Islamofascist label, we’ll see and time will tell.

Does Bin Ladenism or Salafism or whatever we agree to call it have anything in common with fascism?

I think yes. The most obvious points of comparison would be these: Both movements are based on a cult of murderous violence that exalts death and destruction and despises the life of the mind. (”Death to the intellect! Long live death!” as Gen. Francisco Franco’s sidekick Gonzalo Queipo de Llano so pithily phrased it.) Both are hostile to modernity (except when it comes to the pursuit of weapons), and both are bitterly nostalgic for past empires and lost glories. Both are obsessed with real and imagined “humiliations” and thirsty for revenge. Both are chronically infected with the toxin of anti-Jewish paranoia (interestingly, also, with its milder cousin, anti-Freemason paranoia). Both are inclined to leader worship and to the exclusive stress on the power of one great book. Both have a strong commitment to sexual repression—especially to the repression of any sexual “deviance”—and to its counterparts the subordination of the female and contempt for the feminine. Both despise art and literature as symptoms of degeneracy and decadence; both burn books and destroy museums and treasures.

The Final Word on Beauchamp?

That Took Foerever: Beauchamp Story Collapses

The documents posted by Drudge reveal that the New Republic’seditors have known for several weeks that the central anecdote of the story was untrue, that the other anecdotes were deeply suspect, and that the author was no longer standing by his work. And yet they remained publicly silent even though they had long ago promised to be open and forthcoming on the matter. Worse still, they asked Beauchamp to cancel pending interviews with the Washington Post and Newsweek, lest their complicity in Beauchamp’s slanders come to light.

Foer attacked his magazine’s critics as “reckless” and “ideologically motivated,” at one point even demanding an apology from the bloggers who did so much to advance this story and find out the truth of the matter. He now has more than a little ’splaining to do.

The truth should always be demanded, and in this case as well as with the Rathergate forgeries and the like, the blogosphere has spawned a host of amateur and semi-professional sleuths that have been able to expose the lies and deceptions that twenty years ago would have been easily pawned off on the public as truth. We have entered the age of the citizen journalist and the amateur sleuth, and while these can often be hazardous as well as  intellectually and factually sloppy  (the 9-11 ‘truth’ movement is perhaps the best example) overall the blogosphere has become yet another ‘check and balance’ not only to the three branches of government but to the mainstream press as well. The question used to be asked  ”Who will watch the watchers?”. The answer to that has now become the simple but effective “We will”.  I still remember Andres fervent and emotional post (though I am having a bit of trouble locating it) about how we have somehow created a generation of barbaric monsters because of the Iraq War. One should not be so quick to buy into every hysterical pontification of the peace at any cost crowd. To often this is where it leads too.

The SDFD.

These guys are studs.  According to the local news, they’re all running on about five hours of sleep since Sunday, and they are still saving homes in ways that defies belief.  They are actually saving the vast majority of houses that are in the direct path of the fires.

Just FYI, It still sucks here.  The winds have died down, but I still have not seen a single commercial  on the local channels.  Two new big fires flared up today, and some of the evac centers are now turning people  away.  The local Marine base (Camp Pendleton) also has new fires, but say they think they can control them.  All of the schools are closed for the week and the community is coming together in a way you could not believe (I shit you not, at one point they said that one of the most needed items were palettes and boxes to put the other donated goods in).

I’m fine, and though the fires are now much closer than I would like, my place should be OK.  If not, it will have gone through two suburbs to get here, of course the fire is at the edge of the first of them.

Update:  I think this might be almost over.  The teevee is telling us which residents can return to thier homes, rather than those who need to flee.  The smoke is all but gone here, and the children of the scary invaders from the south are now playing their crazy version of “football” in the street in front of my house.

Update 2:  Ugh.  Some of the networks are saying that the reprieve is due to the fact that the winds are now blowing the other way, and the fires will now spread to the east.  I don’t buy it.  I think the situation is really winding down.  At least there is a little bit of humor in this (at least for me, in my sad little Defiant world) because the local teevee anchors are so tired that they are now babbling worse than I do on a Saturday night.  “Stay classy, San Diego!”  :)

Osama bin Laden on the state of Iraq

Filed under: Iraq, The Iraq War — Dave - the Infidel Sage @ 8:00 am

Perhaps Al Qaeda will not win this one either

The direct involvement of Osama bin Laden in the leadership issues with al Qaeda in Iraq speaks volumes on the problems the terror group is facing in Iraq. Violence is down 70 percent since June and al Qaeda is being chased from its stronghold. Over the past several days a clash between the Islamic Army of Iraq and al Qaeda near Baghdad resulted in 60 dead. Al Qaeda’s much touted Ramadan campaign resulted in the death of the leader of the Anbar Awakening, killed dozens of Sunni and Shia leaders in Diyala, and missed its targets in Salahadin. But the attacks failed to break the movement, and even served to strengthen the will of the leadership and followers.

One has to wonder how many of those opposed to the Iraq war share his despair? Just a couple of months ago I mentioned that the US was probably at the ‘half war point’ in Iraq and that a ‘turning’ point had been reached. It has that feeling as the insurgency begins to fall apart and the true key to Iraq’s security and future, the average Iraqi, decided ‘enough is enough’ and stepped forward to stake a claim in his nation’s future and to deny the radical’s and jihadists control of the streets. We seem to see that happening now. And for the sake of the Iraqi people, I hope that continues.

Dave’s Quote of the Day

“Al Gore, the latest recipient of the Nobel Peace Prize, is a poor choice, one likely not to stand the test of time. Leaving aside the school-marmish, preachy, superior attitude that makes him such a magnet for parody, Gore is a phony. On the basis of his actions and writings over many years my guess is that Gore suffers from Narcissistic Personality Disorder. The criteria for this diagnosis, as described in the psychiatrist’s bible, the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, include a ‘pervasive pattern of grandiosity (in fantasy or behavior), need for admiration, and lack of empathy… a grandiose sense of self-importance (e.g., exaggerates achievements and talents, expects to be recognized as superior without commensurate achievements)… a preoccupation with fantasies of unlimited success, power, brilliance, beauty, or ideal love; believes that he or she is special and unique and can only be understood by, or should associate with, other special or high-status people (or institutions), and… shows arrogant, haughty behaviors or attitudes.’ People who suffer from Narcissistic Personality Disorder are tough to be around. They make terrible bosses, unbearable in-laws and insufferable neighbors. That’s why I don’t want Al Gore to be president—or to live next door to me.”

A couple excerpts from today’s recap.

Since the league was coed, due to an imbalance, I was covering women. I think I accidentally got to second base with one of them even though this was not baseball. She ran into me, and my hand was open. There was no grabbing or squeezing, so she will not be suing me. Also, this league does not have butt-slapping, since every man is one accusation away from being Clarence Thomas. Anyway, after her bouncie bounced against me, I put my hands in the air the same way a player acts when flagged for a penalty….

…New England Patriots @ Miami Dolphins–The 6-0 New England Patriots, despite Tom Brady and Randy Moss, will at some point lose a game and fall short of the 1972 Dolphins. The 0-6 Miami Dolphins, Despite Trent Green out for the season, will at some point win a game and avoid duplicating the 1976 Buccaneers. Neither occurred today, and this is not why they play the games. Goliath beat up David, stole his girlfriend, and took his lunch money.

Bombings in Karachi target former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto (latest count is 132 dead and several hundred wounded)

Pakistan as a country is at the crossroads when it comes to the “War on Terror”. Parts of the country is embroiled in a de facto civil war and Al Qaeda, the Taliban and their tribal allies are increasingly flexing their muscles. The ‘Long War’ is far from over. The main theater of combat operations may shift from time to time and even as their influence drains away in Iraq they are shifting their emphasis back into parts of Afghanistan and Pakistan. Many of the principle players in the latest round of war between the West and Islamic fascism can be found here. It’s going to get ugly in Pakistan. Very ugly.

Heres a link to CNN’s video of the blast.

In early October, Baitullah Mehsud, the powerful Taliban commander in South Waziristan whose troops are holding almost 300 Pakistani soldiers in captivity, threatened to kill Bhutto upon her return.

“My men will welcome Bhutto on her return,” Baitullah told a Senator. “We don’t accept President General Musharraf and Benazir Bhutto because they only protect the US interest and see things through its glasses. They’re only acceptable if they wear the Pakistani glasses.” The Pakistani government has accused Baitullah of orchestrating a suicide campaign throughout Pakistan, yet seeks to renegotiate “peace agreements” that would allow him to remain free and in control of the tribal regions.

“Many threats have been made from left, right and centre to try and intimidate not only me, but most important of all, the people of Pakistan so that they should not go to the airport to receive me. The threats come from Afghan militants, Arab militants and the Red Mosque militants but the people of Pakistan are with me.”

“I don’t believe that a true Muslim will make an attack on me… Islam forbids suicide bombings … Anyone who attacks me would burn in hell.”

“The way to make a change is not through death and violence. We do not have to agree on everything, but we should agree to resolve our differences peacefully.”

- Former Pakistani premier Benazir Bhutto (quote was made yesterday).

Is neoconservatism dead? Alive or dead, where did it come from, and what was, and who were they anyway?

In Neoconservatism’s Future, Joshua Muravchik lays out a concise, yet detailed history of the movement, as well as how in his view it is not dead yet.

Have America’s troubles in Iraq sounded the death knell of neoconservatism, the political ideology that is said to be behind our presence there? Over the past year, there has been no shortage of voices saying so, many with undisguised glee.

Whether you love them or hate them, there is something to learn here. Even the serious student will be edified!

If Media Matters, does Money Matter?

My friend Andre here on ConClub, who is slightly to the left of me, decided to use Rush rhodesshirt002.jpgLimbaugh in a recent post as a comparative example to the lunatic ravings of John Elliott regarding the Randi Rhodes incident. No matter that Elliott created a fantasy out of whole cloth, and you have to take a leap of faith to believe the charge against Rush. I certainly do not want to spend my time being Mr. Limbaugh’s apologist. I just want to respond in depth to Andre’s comment…

Um, PG, Just for the record, George Soros is not involved with Media Matters in any way.

Would that it was true my friend, would that it was true! Not only does media matter, but money does too my friend; don’t ya think?

Some people may swallow the argument about OSI and how any funds given were “earmarked” for propaganda machines other than Media Matters, and the Progressives are welcome to. I choose to use common sense. Sorry guys, being full of it when it comes to plain facts is not a difference of opinion, it’s a question of reality. Mr. Soros funds the organizations that fund Media Matters. Progressives believe PNAC is a conspiracy, but not the Soros -OSI- Tides Foundation - Media Matters chain. Earmarks, yeah the mob likes that term too when they laundry their “fungible” money. What do those Progressives say about how to see how evil capitalism works? Is it follow the money? Yes I think it is!

Something else for “religious fanatics” in America to oppose; Maine give thumbs up to middle school sex

Filed under: Culture, Education, Religion — E the Wise @ 7:46 am

Perhaps the harshest critics of the religious right and the sway they hold over American politics are Conclubs own DFV and Wes.  On a rather spirited debate in the past, Wes has made the claim that “the underlying thing they (Christians) want to control is premarital sex. It has always been premarital sex. They are against anything that might possibly mean more of it. And they sincerely want to prevent you from being able to have it. They have campaigns against it.

The Scribe, in talking about bathroom sex and Senator Craig has opined that, “they have consistently preached that we don’t really have sex drives at all, just carefully considered behaviors. It is a position that must be patronizingly called amusing, since there’s no support for it in science or sociology oir history. It is reassuring for them to conclude that humans have no serious desires or urges or instincts.”

Since both claims are absurd and sophomoric, I won’t spend time rehashing them, but I do anxiously await their posts that heap praise on the middle school in Maine that will now begin handing out birth control pills and patches to their 6th, 7th and 8th grade girls.  For Wes, I suspect it will strike a blow to all of us radicals who want to control pre-marital sex.  For DFV, its about acknowledging nature and aiding the process.  To him we have a responsibility to understand that middle schoolers have urges and we should therefore be understanding and accommodating about those urges.

Fire away boys!

Discoverer of DNA in Racial Imbroglio

LONDON-James D. Watson, 79, co-discoverer of the DNA helix and winner of the 1962 Nobel Prize in medicine, told the Sunday Times of London that he was “inherently gloomy about the prospect of Africa” because “all our social policies are based on the fact that their intelligence is the same as ours — whereas all the testing says not really.”

…With Steve (of Next Stop Lauderdale) who also finds the sudden Democratic interest in condemning a genocidal incident that occurred some 85 years ago rather mysterious and little more than an effort to sabotage the war effort. Unlike some pundits, I do believe with that the Turks committed genocide on the Armenians during this time period, and that probably hundreds of thousands of Turks had been slayed by the Armenian militias earlier and that that the rebuffed Greek attempt to reconquer the old Byzantine empire was not genocidal in nature but the Turkish response to it probably was. The question remains; Will the US condemn the excesses of Attila the Hun and Genghis Khan and what good does it do if they did so? This latest move by the Democrats in Congress is devious and, in reality, a slap in the face of the victims and their families that suffered at the hand of the Turks during those dark days. Exploiting tragedy for partisan purposes. Why am I not surprised?

I don’t know what the merits of the claim are but it seems a little late to press this matter against the current citizens of Turkey and seems to serve merely as a provocation.  I wonder why during the 50 years Democrats controlled the Congress they didn’t proffer a similar resolution unless……………….. Now to the Democrats game plan…………Ever  since France passed a similar resolution they have not been able to get “fly over” privileges and 30 per of the fuel consumed by the US troops and 70 percent of the cargo to the troops in Iraq pass through Turkey.

What are people really interested in?

On a blog such as Conclub, we write on a little bit of everything. From baseball to music to scandal; from the political outrage of the week to in-depth analysis and discussion of the issue of the day. Occasionally, it is something relatively random and sometimes downright silly. And, yet, sometimes  the latter are among the best or most popular posts a blog can have. Conclub’s most popular (but far from its best) post, and one of a handful that signalled that “Conclub had arrived”, was one written rather hastily and, I admit, with little thought, foresight or effort. Today, the rather whimsical post Meet Fred Thompson’s Wife, Jeri Kehn achieved its 50,000 view. Honestly, I’d rather have 100 thoughtful and consistent readers than 50,000 plus curiosity visits, but it’s fun to watch all the same.

Personally, the post I had the most fun authoring was the pre Wes and Pgwarner post What we would look like if we were made into action figures. But then again, that’s just me. The question does become; What would Wes and Pgwarner look like if they were action figures? Wes? Pg? Any thoughts? I’m sort of sensing Pg as Obi-One and Wes as perhaps some sort of variation of a young Luke Skywalker.

I’ve always enjoyed listening to Great White, and believe they are at their best when playing blues-based rock.  This video was recorded live at the Ritz in 1988 and shows off the vocal talents of Jack Russell (who of course always wanted to be Robert Plant).

Pakistan’s Appeasement Fails

Western Civilization desperately needs another Churchill to arise to sound a warning and message for all to hear. Appeasement does not work.

And so the Long War continues…

THE fighting in Pakistan this week has been more in tense than any current op erations across the border in Afghanistan. President Musharraf is paying, with interest, for trying to cut a deal with Islamist fanatics.

The combat operations in North Waziristan involve thousands of ground troops, artillery barrages and attack aircraft. This isn’t internal policing. It’s war….

…I can find no single instance in 3,000 years of history when violent religious fanatics were pacified by concessions. Religious fanaticism, with its apocalyptic currents, can never be contented. The appetite for blood only increases.

The rule is brutal, but ironclad. If you don’t kill the killers, the killers will kill you.

Redefining Gender and the Family Unit

The Family Unit - Obsolete?

Those who seek to dilute and redefine the concept of traditional heterosexual marriage and the concept of the nuclear family continue their secular jihad on the most basic and fundamental building blocks of our community, society, country and civilization. RINO’s such as Governor Schwarzenegger are an incredible embarrassment to themselves and to the Republican party in general.

What a twisted and perverse path we are on.  This is what the end result is when, as a society, we decide that there is no right and wrong and that silly concepts as morals, values and common sense should be discarded and thrown onto the ash heap of history.

At least it will be well documented here on Conclub.

The World Congress noted the law prohibits “instruction” or “activity” that is perceived to “promote a discriminatory bias” against “gender,” including cross-dressing and sex-change operations as well as “so-called sexual orientation.” ….

…. “It will prohibit anything that suggests that the natural family – a man and a woman, married, with children – is normal or typical,” said Carlson. “Thus, under this latest advance toward a Brave New World of polymorphous perversion, California textbooks will no longer be able to use words like ‘mother and father’ and ‘husband and wife,’ because they suggest that heterosexuality is the norm – even though that is manifestly the case, even in California.”

The organization’s statement called it “unbelievable” that teachers and students who oppose same-sex marriage and suggest homosexuality isn’t innate, or disapprove of cross-dressing and sex-change operations, could be disciplined as “harassers,” and students may use the restrooms designated for the gender with which they identify.

Stephen Horner and those like him are dispicable idiots!

Filed under: Idiots, Sports — E the Wise @ 9:07 am

Whenever something is going well for the great majority of people, there is always “that guy” to make sure everyone is just as miserable and dispicable as he is.  Stephen Horner is “that guy.”

In order to drum up more ticket sales and awareness of their product this past season, the Colorado Rockies held some Wednesday night ladies night promotions.  So ingrained in our culture is the ladies night that 30 years ago it was the title for a Kool and the Gang album.  For the Rockies, it is a smart move from a business standpoint.  They held many promotions this past year, two of which my kids were a part of

But to Horner and guys like him, such promotions are discriminatory.  He can’t enjoy the perks so no one should be able to.

“I was denied equal privileges at the Rockies game because of my gender,” Horner wrote in his complaint.

What a complete jackoff!  To make matters worse, it turns out that Horner has made a regular habit of calling out ladies night promotions at bars and taverns that dare try to make a dollar by getting women through their doors.

Horner has filed 14 suits in Denver and Aurora municipal courts over ladies night promotions.

Thirteen were against bars that held the promotions, and one was against a newspaper that advertised a ladies night.

So far, he’s lost all four of the cases that have been before a judge, including the one against Westword, which ran the advertisement.

There is nothing more pathetic than the man that claims to be harmed by some person or policy that in actuality, has no effect on him.  Like the man that claims a woman sexually harasses him, such people are masking their monetary ambitions with claims of “equality” and gripes about “fairness.”  And in the end, the general public pays the price.  Since promotions aimed at kids discriminate against older people, say bye-bye to those.  And since giving women cheaper drinks on one night of the week is unfair, male and female alike suffer.   Thanks Stephen Horner!  Way to fight for a worthy cause you retard! At Vail Christian High School, in Colorado, a teacher has been arrested for “sexual assault on a child.” The alleged perp is a 27-year old guy; the supposed victim, a 17-year old young woman. We used to call a consensual relationship between a 27-year old and a 17-year old “marriage” or “normal.” I guess I’m okay if we now want to start calling it “off-limits.”

But to call it “sexual assault on a child” is to pervert both the language and the law, to say nothing of the attack the label poses on the not abnormal exposition of biological realities.

Fred Thompson decides to take the offensive

Filed under: 2008 Presidential campaigns — Dave - the Infidel Sage @ 9:44 pm

It appears that Fred Thompson may  attempt to actually win the GOP nomination. After a great run up as a ‘non-candidate’ Thompson appeared to have waited too long to announce and then followed that up with what can best be described as ‘a stumble’ coming out of the starting gate.  This opening salvo in the primary battle helps him recapture the initial interest in him (is he the ‘true’ conservative of the leading contenders?) and plays on the fears about Guiliani that many on the Right suspect. The maneuvering and jockeying has begun, and I’m glad to see him finally taking some of my advice. Now if he would just start returning my phone calls all would be well.

“Some think the way to beat the Democrats in November is to be more like them. I could not disagree more,” the one-time Tennessee senator says in remarks he is to deliver before the Conservative Party of New York.

“I believe that conservatives beat liberals only when we challenge their outdated positions, not embrace them. This is not a time for philosophical flexibility, it is a time to stand up for what we believe in,” Thompson adds…

…”With me, what you see is what you get. I was a proud conservative yesterday, I remain one today, and I will be one tomorrow,” Thompson says.

The last quote appears to both a slam on both Guiliani and Romney. I already have campaign fatigue, but I do enjoy watching the strategizing and jockeying inherent in the primaries.

We haven’t seen a full venting here on Conclub, but I’d be interested in hearing who everyone would vote for, both Dems and Repubs, if the primary election was held today.  Obviously, at this juncture, I’d vote for Thompson by process of elimination.
