Via Hot Air:

“I think the ’surge’ is working,” the Democrat said in a videoconference from his Johnstown office, describing the president’s decision to commit more than 20,000 additional combat troops this year. But the Iraqis “have got to take care of themselves.”

  2. I know its a minor detail but I think the Beast has it wrong when he creates the list of impossibilities following the text. So when Beast says “in related news: Spuds Makenzie thinks Miller tastes better than Bud” or “Trump thinks Rosie is smart,” we know that those are just funny impossibilities and those things never will come to pass.

Murtha, on the other hand, really does believe that the Surge is working and that Iraq isn’t the fiasco that he has tried to make it appear. I think that all along, jokers like Reid and Murtha have known that the Surge was working but chose to put politics and petty bickering above the safety of the troops and the well-being of the nation. And that is why Murtha is such a joke and such an ass-clown. He is nothing more than a hack for unions and an affront to anything that might be decent in American politics.

  3. Good point, but you must admit Paul McCartney’s post Beatles songs really do all suck.

  4. Live and let die? Band on the run? Spies like us? and the coup de tat Say, Say, Say (sang with Michael Jackson)?

Those four song dominate anything he did with the Beatles!

    o.k. maybe not.

  5. Hell no! Paul McCartney has had plenty of solid stuff after the Beatles. It’s not on par with his work there (not a very good producer and certainly no George Martin), but the songwriting is there and there’s some great stuff. Take a listen to some stuff off Flaming Pie. Somedays is a gorgeous song that is just heartbreaking when you consider the context.

  6. Jack Murtha, on the other hand, is a terrible songwriter.
