The train wreck that is Nick Saban
This probably has no merit but is worth noting anyway. Apparently an insider is telling the site Westbygodvirginia that the agent for Nick Saban has recently contacted the University of West Virginia about their recent coaching vacancy. This should come as no surprise to anyone who watched Saban vehemently deny that he was leaving the Miami Dolphins only to leave the Miami Dolphins.
These sources tell us that Saban is extremely unhappy in Tuscaloosa and has failed to recapture the situation he had in Baton Rouge with LSU. The purpose of the agent’s call was to express initial interest in the position and to have WVU athletics put together a compensation package enough to lure Saban from Alabama. This package would not need to be as much as Saban is currently making at Alabama, but enough to not result in a 50% paycut. So, we’re obviously talking more than the $1.9 million former coach Rich Rodriguez was making.
Now Saban isn’t going anywhere but the fact that rumors would swirl around such a scoundrel is indicative of his opportunist reputation. The Dophins just won their first post-Saban era game and their 1 – 13 season is directly attributable to Saban’s terrible NFL stint. He left the once proud Dophins in a state of disarray. This post is also funny because the same site excoriates Rich Rodriguez for taking the Michigan job! They call Rodriguez “slimy” while plunging themselves over the prospect of Nick Saban! Nice.
Hopefully Colorado beats U of A’s ass in the ‘Who Gives a Shit’ Bowl. Colorado’s coach, Dan Hawkins, embodies all of the class that Nick Saban lacks.

Saban is a shameless self-promoter. He personifies what is wrong with coaching today. Great pic.
