OK, this guy I’ll throw under the bus

Posted in 2008 Presidential campaigns, Religion, Scandal by Wes on March 19th, 2008

Remember how I said one of the key things making me defend Wright was that he didn’t make himself bigger than his church? Didn’t try to use his position to help himself get power? Didn’t actively practice intolerance? Didn’t try to provoke people into blaming the world, but rather focused on how people could lift themselves up out of it?

Screw James Meeks and his “selfless” community service. I know a Clay Davis when I see one. And as Sen. Davis would say, “sheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeit” (I highly recommend that clip). Obama, buddy, you’re in it waist deep, and I’d be damn surprised if that speech can help you out of this one. I wish you the best of luck.

Wes, how on earth can you distinguish between the ignorant, hateful rantings of James Meeks and the ignorant, hateful rantings of Jeremiah Wright?!?!

Oh that’s right. One is just a Bible-thumping whore inciting racial hatred for his own benefit, and the other is a former high-level political advisor to your annointed candidate. Say no more.

When did greed and disingenuousness stop being something that differentiates the moral quality of two men? Wright was a pastor and he stayed a pastor. What, you think he was gunning for a spot in Washington? Highly doubt it. He even told Obama that he’d have to push him away one day. Does that sound like someone gunning to be a high-level advisor to you? Obama kept Wright on board because he cared about him, not because he was hoping to push through some agenda.

Meeks, on the other hand, uses inciteful language to inspire anger not for the purposes of trying to make his people stronger, but rather for the purposes of making himself stronger. He’d happily accept a spot in the Obama campaign if Obama didn’t already know he was poison.

Wes why do think that the way to excuse Wright is to compare him to others? The point is that his speech is hate-filled and he has a potty mouth. The rest is crap designed to confuse.

Sorry you are not holding up well in these exchanges with the Scribe. Your position is too weak to provide a counter to righteous indignation. You are defending the indefensible and it is not romantic. Wright is simply WRONG. That he is wrong is self evident.

Quit spending so much time being a reactionary, and more time looking into things.

ADD: Have you looked into Liberation Theology, from its Catholic-Marxist inception until now? Please do. You can not have an understanding of Wright like you do Wes if you are informed on the subject.
