Dave’s Quote of the Day - Silly Season Edition
“Trivialization, thy name is American politics. For example, I see by the perfectly serious New York Times that Sen. Obama’s advisers had debated whether to let him be pictured playing some basketball on the campaign trail because, though it might help him look like a regular guy, especially in Hoosierland,’it could raise racial stereotypes…’ You can’t make this kind of thing up. It’s remarkable how the Times’ esteemed correspondents can keep a straight face when reporting on this year’s presidential election. And something tells me the campaign has only begun to get silly.”

Just goes to show you how utterly contrived every aspect of a presidential campaign is. Remember bowling with Obama? I actully heard a “serious” report which postulated that he would lose traction in PA for being such a poor bowler. Personally I could care less about a presidential candidate’s hobbies so long as they don’t involve torturing small animals or something but the sad truth is that stupid crap like this actually matters. Your average American doesn’t put as much thought into his vote as the people who visit this blog. I think we forget that sometimes.

E, The Beast simply took a page from the Obama Campaign book. When the big white goldfish’s continued presence became deleterious to his narrative he removed it and threw it under the bus.
Well, in this case the Ford Windstar Van.
