You’re right, she’s not qualified. Your outrage would have more credibility if you hadn’t enthusiastically backed the most inexperienced neophyte to run for President in modern US political history from the very momet he announced his ambition. So spare me the mock seriousness.

From a political perspective, though, her answers were embarrassing, and unless she gets better she will bring down the ticket.

I’m not talking about inexperience, I’m talking about unprepared. There’s a huge difference. But don’t worry about her bringing down the ticket. My guess is that Thursday will be the last time we see her outside of a campaign rally.
And for the record, I was a Breck-Girl guy, as silly as that sounds now.

She’s been through twenty debates and then managed to get elected governor. I think the Left makes the mistake of so belittling her and the media trying to entrap her that they set the bar very low for her. If she does halfway decent then she’s actually seen as doing very well. She surprised the heck out of everyone at the RNC, and then had a couple rough spots in sit down interviews. (She should not have done any of them, they are only done as an attempt to get a ‘gotcha moment’. There is no obligation by the campaign to indulge the fourth estate.) The only question in the end is if she helped more than hurt the campaign. The verdict is not in on that. She’s no worse for gaffes than ‘my helicopter was forced down in Afghanistan’ Joe Biden.

Which of the two questions I posted was a “gotcha” question?

Look, it doesn’t matter, because on Thursday, our questions will be answered and her qualifications will be clear.
Reports from Ed Schultz say that anonymous McCain campaign sources say Palin is performing abysmally in the practices they’ve held and they aren’t sure what they’re going to do. I don’t know that I believe that. I believe that he was told that, but it sounds like the ultimate attempt at lowering expectations. But even if it is, that is one of the most insane efforts to do that ever.
Of course, it’s not like we have an opponent who is a sure bet to be uncontroversial.
I’m just saying…. between the two of us, here’s hoping both our guys don’t say anything stupid, eh?

Both Biden and Palin have the capacity to do or say something very odd or poorly, and we all know that. I agree that it will be very interesting to watch. Palin seriously just has to make it through now without making any major gaffes. She better deliver or the Right might just turn on her and that would be really ugly for everyone involved.
