Dave,
Thanks for the link in your recent “Top Ten” post. I hadn’t thought of myself as a humorist, but maybe I can add that to my resume…..

Dave,
I was compelled to write to you, extolling the excellent writing of your article “Liberalism: The Seductive Temptress.” This, my Brother, is a superbly written piece, free of dogma and hype. Factually accurate does not do this piece justice.
Keep up the great work!
Blessings,
James Artre

Hey Dave. Wondering if you might want to open up the comment section to a new service called Echo? I could help to get it set up and it allows aggregation of quotes about our articles from all over the web, not just on our site. Been doing quite a bit of research into the platform. What do you think? http://js-kit.com/

I can help you expose the mismanagement and inefficiency of Washington’s multi-billion dollar attempt to stem the foreclose tide. There are many angles to the story. In my opinion the best angle is “PUBLIC SECTOR v. PRIVATE SECTOR.”
Congress has appropriated $5 billion of taxpayer dollars to provide foreclosure mitigation counseling to at-risk American homeowners. The money is administered (via grants) to non-profit organizations [like ACORN] through HUD. The program is called the National Foreclosure Mitigation Counseling Program (NFMC). HUD has chosen NeighborWorks America as the program administrator. The money started to flow in early 2008. To-date less than 5% of the at-risk homeowner population has sought help through the program! Even the most generous critic would say the progress is too slow.
Non-Profit groups like ACORN are drawing grant money, but doing very little to solve the foreclosure problem. The current system/program is a virtual black hole. The program is failing becuase of non-profit corruption and ineptitude; however, the government insists upon funding these organizations and refuses to give private sector businesses access to the funds.
I became aware of this problem as a result of an outreach program I created to provide counseling clients to the HUD-approved non-profit agencies. I offered to provide hundreds of new counseling clients every day, but I could not find a single agency willing to take advantage of my service. In effect, they willingly turned their backs on the American homeowners they are supposed to be helping. I was appalled. I have been trying to get my foot in the door with HUD and NeighborWorks ever since; however, the non-profit mentality has been a formidable obstacle. They are more interested in maintaining the status quo than actually helping American homeowners!
I’d be happy to give you some personal insights to ACORN as well.
Please advise.
