In 2009 while showering before going to my journaling group (AKA Bible Study) I looked at the back of my shampoo bottle. “Wash. Rinse. Repeat.” I thought, “GAWD, what transparent marketing; if really did that, not only would I run out shampoo each time I washed my hair, I’d wreck my hair as well!” That’s when God whispered back into my heart. PRAY. LISTEN. OBEY. REPEAT. And I was just totally awestruck—and wrecked—it was hard to remain standing. If God used a donkey to speak to Balaam, He used a shampoo bottle to reach me. Just as my heart had been truly irreverent, God used the focus of that moment to speak to me.
Is being saved the endpoint of the earthly life of christians? Is that all we need to concern ourselves about? What did Jesus want for us and from us? Can we live a life that is significant and fulfilling?
I believe life is about much more than salvation. God has plans and purposes for everyone. We can know Him and His will for us. And we can stay in that place—BUT IT IS HARD WORK. While I use paper, pens and technology to help me, all I really need are a little time, as much humility as I can manage and maybe a Bible if I’m blessed enough to have one.
Learn to walk by faith: PLOR (Pray. Listen. Obey. Repeat.)
KEEP YOUR PLOR ON!
